Feature Requests and Feedback

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

  1. subscriptions

Allow subscription creation for 'messages' resource for personal microsoft accounts.

As of today 01/01/2019 I get "Specified resource is not supported for MSA requests" error with v1.0 endpoint.

Things seem to work with beta endpoint. But I am not confident about using a beta endpoint in production.

        • Add a Group relationship to the SharePoint/Sites/Site endpoint in Microsoft Graph

Currently the SharePoint Sites endpoint in the graph doesn't allow you to navigate to the associated group if it has one (in the case of group enabled team sites). It would be good if you either created a /sites/group relationship or at the very least included GroupId: {guid} in the properties returned when /sites/{site-id} is called so that a second call could be made to the /groups/{id} endpoint.

          • Extend the Microsoft Graph API with more SharePoint search features

Microsoft Graph allows us to search individual sites

            e.g.

            https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/sites/mydevspsite.sharepoint.com,siteid/drive/root/search(q='cheese')

The SharePoint REST api allows us to search across all sites

            e.g.

            https://mydevspsite.sharepoint.com/_api/search/query?querytext=%27chicken%27

It would be extremely useful to be able to perform the search all sites call directly from the MS Graph.

Directory.AccessAsUser.All, How to add this permission to my registered app. Its a Delegated permission but I need it in Application permissions. So my app can have access to Reset password.

When updating the passwordProfile property, the following permission is required: Directory.AccessAsUser.All.

                • Planner Tasks - Consider and Order by favoritePlans tasks

Normally user has multiple planner plans, there is ability to tag favoritePlans. Current tasks API retrieve tasks from all plans, its good to consider favoritePlans tasks and order then first or some option in API to sort by favoritePlan tasks

                  • Improve recent feature of graph api

Currently the Graph API "/me/drive/recent" call returns only the files that has been created in the OneDrive itself. It is not returning the folders or files that has been uploaded or share. It should search for all files in all folders (upto nth level) and list the files/folders according to the "lastModifiedDateTime" field.

                    • Last password change

We want to switch from remote PS sessions to Graph API for the product we offer to our customers, we recently switched from the MSOnline to the AzureAD cmdlets and are pretty happy about it but lets face it, Graph API would improve the performance significantly but there are lots of properties/functions we don't find. One of them is the Last password change of a user. This is the same request i found on Stackoverflow: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/37849116/microsoft-graph-api-password-last-changed . Would be neat if this is implemented and im sure we are not alone :) (Vote if you think the same)

                        • Expand the Graph Open Extension limitations

I'm attempting to use the Graph Extensions for my user data and keep running into limits put in place that I feel are too small. I either hit the 2KB limit per extension, or when I try to break it apart into logical extensions, I hit the error: "Maximum number of extensions values supported per application is 2"

I can provide our business case if needed.

                            • Azure AD Redeem invite / Displayname

I invite a user to AAD using the MSGraph API. The user recieves a custom e-mail with the redeem url.

But at the redeem page you get to fill in your displayname which seems to be prefilled with the front part of the e-mail account. Or it should be possible to pass a hint for this field or it should take the displayname of the user account created by createinvitation in AAD.

                              • Expose Birthday and Department property to the Users endpoint.

This has been unavailable for a long time now. What's the point in having users store their birthdays if you can only check if it's the current user's birthday or department.

It's astounding that such little effort is put into addressing these issues with the endpoints having various missing props and functions such as contains. All in all it means I can't create the following:

                                - Search for department and it's users (Contact search component)
                                - Upcoming/Today's birthdays

It can't be that difficult to just add these properties to the /users endpoint as well as fix the permissions issues plaguing…

                                    • Global Application Configuration Endpoint for MS Graph

                                      Ref: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53686477/global-application-configuration-for-microsoft-graph-api/53698846

It would be great to store some global Application configuration in MS Graph which can be edited by specific user groups but be readable for everybody in the organization.

                                      Example usecase:
                                      - Store internal Link Map of Company which will be picked up by SPA. Links can be updated by admin.

                                      • API to get ownerOf groups

I was trying to get groups where an user is ownerOf. Now I have first get all groups and since group info doesn't include caller role(member/owner), I need to call member API for each of those groups so that I can filter out ownerOf groups.

I need to do similarly large no. of calls to get group member count, since i don't see group member count in group meta data returned by memberOf.

                                        • Application Extension Properties documentation is gone, is this feature going away?

We are using Application Extensions but are worried this is going away. The feature is still working we just noticed the documentation on the beta reference below is no longer working so want to know the future of this!

                                          Documentation link now broken:
                                          https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/docs/api-reference/beta/api/application_list_extensionproperties

API sample call to get list of application extensions:
                                          https://graph.microsoft.com/beta/applications/{id}/extensionProperties
