Feature Requests and Feedback

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Allow Access to Planner using Client Credentials Flow

Planner tasks, buckets and plans are apparently not accessible using client credentials flow (app only).

I can access them using code flow authentication, but that's not my requirement (internal web service).

Everything else seems to work - it's just the planner stuff that doesn't (401 unauthorized).

Is there a workaround that doesn't require a user to log in?

    • Allow retrieval of Office 365 users including their birthday using Microsoft Graph API

Using the Microsoft Graph API, I want to create a list of all Office 365 users's birtdays, but I cannot get the list of users including the related birthday property at the moment.

To set up this list I need the following properties exposed via the Graph API:
      -id
      -displayName
      -userPrincipalName
      -birthday

I want to be able to retrieve users using graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/Users/?$select=id,displayName,userPrincipalName,birthday

At the moment executing this results in an InternalServerError with message "This operation is not yet supported.".

Requesting the birthday of the current user works already using graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/Me/?$select=id,displayName,userPrincipalName,birthday

Please add support for requesting the birthday for a list…

When you create a draft in the iOS app it doesn't sync with Office 365 and doesn't show up in any of the other Outlook mail clients.

          • Push and Streaming Services: Include "Id" in "Missed" notifications

If you're using the Outlook Push or Streaming Notifications service, there are cases where the notification cannot be delivered. The cause can range from Microsoft's servers restarting to various other things. The documentation does not provide any more helpful specifics on the potential cause. The documentation calls these "Missed" notifications.

When you receive a missed notification, the payload of the notification does not include the "Id" of the object you missed a notification for. This makes it extremely difficult to keep your service in sync with Office 365 because a missing "Id" field leaves the developer with no other choice…

              • make it possible to utilize other domains than .com for Graph extensions

Currently one can only register schema extensions that have a name of a validated .com domain within the Azure Active Directory tenant. It should be possible to utilize other domains than .com for this purpose.

                • Be able to fetch mails by "conversations" in folders in one request

Right now you cannot achieve "conversations" view in a mail folder using REST API with one request.

A workaround can be found here http://stackoverflow.com/questions/41161515/best-way-to-achieve-conversation-view-for-mail-folder-using-outlook-rest-api

but it is quite slow and not very efficient. Conversations view is the primary view of many mail client but is not achivable (easily) with REST API

                  • Add more permission scopes to "policies" endpoint in MS Graph

Currently /policies requires Directory.AccessAsUser.All which is a delegated permission. Can we include the application-level permission Directory.Read.All?

                                • Office 365 API

I am using office 365 REST API(Version 2.0) to create calendar event. But If I create calendar event with attendee then calendar sends a calendar event mail to attendee which is fine. But If I don't want attendee to receive calendar event mail then how to do it? I am not able to find a property inside Microsoft.Office365.OutlookServices.Event that might help.
I am using Microsoft.Office365.OutlookServices.Event to create event , it will be helpful If Event class has some bool property like notification so that If its false then it will not send calendar invite to attendee otherwise send.

                                    • Allow MailBoxUsage report to show SpamMails count

Is it possible that MailboxUsage report using Office 365 graph usage API returns information about SpamMails e.g. Total spams received in last week, month or a year?

                                      • Allow Json response from Office 365 Usage Graph APIs

Currently Office 365 Usage Graph APIs returns response in csv format and no doubt it is indeed required and useful when you have reporting requirements which can directly be solved using Power BI, however on querying the endpoints programatically e.g. using C# then it adds an overhead of parsing the csv and create data models.

It would be great if these reporting graph APIs can return the Json response as well so that it makes things much simpler for consumption .

                                        • Return client browser information in Office 365 Graph Usage APIs

It would be great if Office 365 Usage graph API can also return the aggregated information about client browsers too (for all services e.g. Exchange online, Yammer etc)
