Feature Requests and Feedback

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. thumbnail

Be able to retrieve thumbnails of Excel documents. This feature works great with Word documents and other types, but really needs to expanded to work with excel

      • Provide API access to AAD user MFA Properties

Would be good to not only retrieve the state of the authentication requirements, but the details around MFA as well: MFA Methods, etc (StrongAuthenticationMethod, StrongAuthenticationRequirement, StrongAuthenticationDetails that was available in PS for AAD V1)

        • Retrieve the extended resource properties like capacity through Graph API (findrooms)

As a user , when I search for a meeting room , we have a requirement to filter the meeting rooms based on the resource availability ( like room capacity , display availibility etc.) . Can we have a feature to include `msExchResourceCapacity`, `msExchResourceDisplay` or `msExchResourceMetaData` in the search criteria ?

          • Contact API: support weblink property on Contact

The REST API only Supports webLink for Messages. However this is not supported for Contacts.

In scenearios where an app itself should not edit/change contacts this would be a valuable feature.

            • Add support to Groups and Photos APIs to Hybrid Deployments

The current documentation states that "[o]nly v1.0 of the Mail, Calendar and Contacts API are available for mailboxes in hybrid deployments".

In order to create real-world solutions using Graph API in Hybrid deployments, the Groups and Photos support (at the very minimum) would be of great benefit. This would enable creation of solutions that drive consumption of other workloads than pure email (such as SharePoint, Yammer, Teams, PowerBI, Stream etc).

                • Support SharePoint multi choice fields when updating list items via Microsoft Graph

It is currently possible to retrieve the data for a multi choice field from the graph, but it errors when you try to update a multi choice field.

                  • Add isFavorite Property for /beta/me/joinedTeams similar to /beta/me/joinedGroups API

/beta/me/joinedgroups returns an "isFavorite" property. Microsoft Teams also has a concept of a favorite team, but there is no isFavorite property on /beta/me/joinedteams. Further, concepts of favorites in groups UI versus teams UI are independent (i.e. favoriting via Groups will not favorite in Microsoft Teams and vice versa)

I am requesting a property be added to /beta/me/joinedTeams which reflects the favorite status for that team and user.

                    /beta/me/joinedGroups:

                    • Planner Task Change Notifications or Delta Query

I would like to be notified when tasks are created, updated or deleted in the graph api change notifications. Alternatively delta queries would be helpful in creating a standup-feed of information that has changed since the last meeting.

                        • Graph Webhooks - include the changed data in the response

Trying out Webhooks on the Graph beta enpoint for /users and I am missing
information about what data was changed

Nowhere to be found is what attributes of the user were changed (i my case "Last name"). This makes the triggers totally unusable for "/users" and I cant really think of anyone who could use this function as is? Sure I know the object was changed but I have no idea WHAT happened and if the change was relevant to my function
Please tell me there are plans to include the actual changes i the trigger response

                          • JAVA SDK to do the function of the Microsoft.Office.Client.Discovery.UnifiedExportTool

                            Hi Dev team,

Is there a JAVA SDK to do the function of the Microsoft.Office.Client.Discovery.UnifiedExportTool?

This is an urgent need for us to integrate content search export functionality in our application.

If there, provide the details of this SDK. If not there, please provide the SDK ASAP.

                            • MS Graph API '/users/delta' endpoint

At the moment the /delta endpoint only works for changes on default attributes or attributes requested via $select query parameter.

It would be very useful to get all new/updated/deleted users, no matter what property changed (e.g. aboutMe, skills, manager, photo).

                                • Create educationClass with Microsoft Graph API

Instead of using SDS, I would like to create an educationClass with the Microsoft Graph API. Or upgrade an existing group or MSTeam to an educationClass. Will that become possible?
NB The existing 'createClass' method on a School item will only link an existing Class, I think, not create a new one.

                                  • Enable an iCal external calendar feed to be set in an Office 365 Mailbox via Powershell script

I work for an educational institution that uses a timetable system that generates personalised timetables as iCal feeds along with a online learning system that also generates calendar data (such as assignment due dates etc) as iCal. We provide students with Exchange Online email and I would like to be able to add these external calendar feed address to a mailbox in Exchange online via powershell script and rest API

                                    • Allow retrieval of Office 365 users including the availability of OneDrive Resource using Microsoft Graph API

I have been looking for a way to list all users that have onedrive resource available. I could list all users and call the /users/<user_id>/drives. However, that would required X number of calls corresponding to X number of users which is a hassle.

Is it possible to include a flag or parameter in the UserObject that informs me that the corresponding user has OneDrive Enabled?

                                      • Add $filter support for webhook subscriptions

Currently we can only register webhooks to listen for all changes, adds, and deletes across a resource.

It would be really useful to add a $filter parameter so that we can pre-filter the entities that we receive notifications for rather than having to implement this logic in our receiver code, still requires a request to load the get the resource. this could reduce the number of graph requests necesary to support certain scenarios.

                                        • Retrieve SharePoint Social.Following Microsoft Graph

It would be great to get SharePoint people and content following information through Microsoft Graph.
