  1. Support for get active worksheet as file in excel online office 365

How to get active worksheet as file in excel online office 365?

For getting whole file or document we are able to do it using Office.context.document.getFileAsync() but i wanted to get worksheet as file using office API.

  2. Allow an option for network access from macros for Mac Excel 2016

I can run a network utility from a container in Mac Excel 2011 to retrieve data for formatting within Excel. In Excel 2016 for Mac, the container model does not permit me to do that. Can there (or is there?) not be a switch that can be set by an admin?

  3. Add .getItemAt functionality to PivotTableCollection

Most collection objects in the JavaScript API have a .getItemAt method. This allows you to access user-created objects without having to know how they're named. PivotTableCollection lacks this method.

    context.workbook.functions.vlookup("Wrench", range, 3, false)

  5. Allow Office Add-in in Excel to read Named Style formatting properties

In the absence of the ability for a Javascript Office Add-in to apply Named Styles to a range of cells in an Excel worksheet (see: https://officespdev.uservoice.com/forums/224641-general/suggestions/10694052-add-support-to-office-add-in-excel-javascript-apis), a intermediate solution would be for the Add-in to be able to interrogate the Named Style for its formatting properties (alignment, font, etc.) and then use the existing Excel 2016 Office Add-in APIs to apply formats that are equivalent to the Named Style (or nearly so).

  6. Ability to inject data in to native PivotTable object

Currently, you can use the PivotTable object and it's associated collections to create, edit, delete PivotTables. But currently, this relies on using Excel itself for the aggregation.

It would be nice to instead be able to manually manipulate the PivotTable object and define hooks for expanding Hierarchies to perform custom aggregation.

This would be useful for using analysis servers which aren't 100% XMLA compliant as well as any other services that want to perform some kind of aggregation on data not available in the worksheet.

  7. show auto sum in the bottom when you switch to another excel sheet

In Excel, when you highlight a bunch of cells, it averages, counts, and sums those cells. When you switch to another excel sheet, this disappears and only works on the active sheet. It would be much more productive to not make this disappear but keep that for use in the other excel sheet.

  9. Excel - Restrict specific cell's formatting in protected worksheets/workbooks BUT allow editing of said cell's values (e.g. characters only)

Currently when you lock cells and enable worksheet protection, you cannot change anything in the cells.

A VERY common and basic need is to allow editing of certain cell values but maintain or lock things like conditional formatting.

  10. Microsoft Excel Professional 2013 DOESN'T always SORT correctly

    An add-in is not necessary.

What IS NECESSARY is for the Excel Developers to FIX Excel 2013 Professional so that it sorts correctly.

I've reported previously that when sorting colums, Excel does no sort items correctly:

    Take for example, :

  11. Keep add-in alive when user closes task pane

When the user closes the web add-in task pane, the web add-in is terminated for that workbook with no warning. I currently see at least four distinct issues:
    - any in-progress operation may be interrupted with unpredictable results
    - The add-in’s Excel event processing and handling is terminated. So, there is no longer any reaction to user gestures such as editing a cell or changing the selection
    - The user steps needed to re-open the task pane (to re-attach the add-in really) are non-obvious for the average user
    - If the user does discover how to re-insert the add-in, the…

  12. Fix the issue when two panes shows up after double-clicking on the Ribbon button.

When I double-click on the Ribbon button to show the Excel task pane add-in, two panes show up. One of the panes may not work. After closing the panes, I can not show the TaskPane again. Only reloading the web page allows fixing the issue.
The issue appears in the online Excel version only.

  13. Fix the bug when Desktop Excel hangs when the JavaScript getSelectedRanges method is called when a big range is selected

I am developing an Excel JS add-in that processes all selected ranges.
When selecting a large range with data, such as A1:O1000000, desktop Excel hangs when I call the ctx.sync method after getting the ctx.workbook.getSelectedRanges() object.
In Excel Online, this code works normally.

    (Excel version is 16.0.12430.20172 64-bit)
