  1. Implement arrow style for a data series in a chart

    In Office Excel, you have an option to implement an arrow style in your line chart for a data series.

    However, it seems like the office.js library is unable to implement this option.

    Excel.Line has the option I'm looking for (beginArrowheadLength, beginArrowheadStyle, etc, ), but it was strictly for shapes, completely separate from series charts, and has no way to somehow implement a custom shape to the data series.

    Adding this feature would help me greatly to create a chart directly to excel instead of building a custom chart inside the page.

    More information on my stackoverflow question:

  2. Optimización Función Buscar

    En mis hojas de calculo no uso la función Buscarv() o Burscarh() por su lentitud en ejecución y por su limitación de no poder devolver valores que se encuentran a la izquierda del vector de búsqueda. En cambio utilizo la siguiente función que mejora ambas características.

    Public Function BUSCAROPT(ValorBuscado As Variant, VectorBusqueda As Variant, VectorDevolucion As Variant) As Variant

    Dim Calculo1 As Double
    Dim Calculo2 As Variant

    Calculo1 = Application.WorksheetFunction.Match(ValorBuscado, VectorBusqueda, 0)

    Calculo2 = Application.WorksheetFunction.Index(VectorDevolucion, Calculo1)

    BUSCAROPT = Calculo2

    End Function

    Les sugiero agregar esta forma de calculo al paquete de funciones para mejorar rendimiento de libros de cálculo.

    Saludos.

  3. Ability to get Excel comment cell reference directly using Office.js

    Is it possible to get Excel comment cell reference directly using Office.js?
    Right now there is no reference regarding the cell the comment is written into.

  6. Fix Worksheet Protection and Keyboard Arrow Keys

    When you protect a worksheet with a JavaScript function and allow unlocked cells only, you can not move around the cells with your arrow keys on your keyboard if that cell is surrounded by all locked cells. For example, If A1, B2, and A3 were locked, but A2 is unlocked, if you protect the worksheet from JavaScript and select A2, you will not be able to move around to the next unlocked cell using your keyboard arrow keys. If i protect the workbook manually and do the same thing it will allow me to move to the next unlocked cell…

  7. Add ability to create/manipulate Power Query objects from Javascript

    Possible use case: create a new query and modify the M code to connect, transform, and load data from different sources to worksheet or pivot tables. This is achievable in VBA but not in javascript. This function would allow add-ins to use Excel's native data ETL engine.

  8. I hope there is a mechanism to control the issue of line breaks.

    <Control xsi: type = "Button" id = "Contoso.TaskpaneButton">
                       <Label resid = "Contoso.TaskpaneButton.Label" />
                     ...
                     </ Control>
    <bt: String id = "Contoso.TaskpaneButton.Label" DefaultValue = "登录" />

    The Chinese characters in the above example, "登录" will be split into a word on the top, a word on the bottom, I just contacted excel add in, the official website did not introduce how to control the problem of character line breaks, which will cause the Chinese character ui is not friendly, I I hope there is a mechanism to control the issue of line breaks.

  9. Add CurrentRegion to the office-js model

    VBA has a CurrentRegion method you can call to get -well- the current region. OfficeJS lacks such a property or method and it would be very useful to have. Excel already has it built-in which is proven as soon as you try to convert a range to a table or insert a chart so it should not be hard to include in the Office-js library.

  10. Add Worksheet.EnableFormatConditionsCalculation to Excel API

    In VBA you can turn on calculation for formatting by using "EnableFormatConditionsCalculation". I suggest adding this same feature to the office-js Excel API so that we can turn on updates for formatting.

  11. Is Excel Javascript API only for creating Add-Ins?

    I am thinking about using the API for quickly exchanging lots of excel data with a webserver. Especially for administration purposes.

    Requirements
    1. Create a connection with a custom webserver instead of localhost [ON OPEN]
    2. Refresh/load the data from the website into the excel workbook when the excel file is opened [ON OPEN]
    3. Send a lock command to the webserver to prevent other users from making changes at the same time as well [ON OPEN]
    4. Return all the data to the webserver [ON SAVE]
    5. Display error message when the format is incorrect [ON SAVE]
    6. Remove…

  12. Consolidation

    While applying the Consolidation option in excel, it shows as "Book 1" for all the consolidated sheets instead of a respective worksheet name.

  13. Make API for accessing Automatically Expend Table Option available in office.js

    Currently office.js does not provide an API for accessing Automatically Expend Table Option or other auto correct options for tables.
    In VBscript you would use Application.AutoCorrect object. Having something like that would be very useful.

  15. Disable resizing and moving Slicers

    In current version of Office JS, we are not able to disable resizing and moving of dynamically created Slicer.
    This would be useful if we want to restrict user from moving the slicers.
    Equivalent to VBA property , Slicer.DisableMoveResizeUI

  17. Provide access to SQL queries through Officejs API for Add-ins

    Spreadsheets built for handling financial data need access to the corporate database. Presumably that is why capabilities are provided within Excel to define and execute SQL queries within the context of a workbook/worksheet.The role of an Add-in to provide a whole host of capabilities to the workbook author cannot be overstated. Yet OfficeJS Excel API seem to be lacking the ability to define, access, and execute the aforementioned queries. Are there any plans in the works to provide the capabilities?
    The lack of this capability particularly affects 3rd party add-in providers who cannot otherwise access a customer's corporate database.

  18. Excel AddIn - Add case sensitivity option to Excel.ListDataValidation

    The Excel API for list data validation has the source property defined as either a string (of comma separated values) or a range. However these two different types are not treated the same.

    Data validation lists passed to source as strings will evaluate with case sensitivity. Lists passed to source as an Excel.range will evaluate without case sensitivity. This makes it impossible to use a list for data validation that comes from memory (or any place other than an Excel range) and to treat it with case insensitivity.

    I suggest a case sensitivity/match case property be added to Excel,ListDataValidation so…

  19. Microsoft office.js Excel add-in - Is it possible to detect excel SAVE action performed by user?

    I am using Office.js API and javascript/react.js for an Excel Add-in and wants to perform an action (execute a function) when the active worksheet/workbook is saved by user.

  20. Allow us to position a shape using a cell's coordinates in Excel. (Javascript)

    Positioning a shape using javascript is very tedious and most often than not, I find myself wanting to position a shape at a very specific position. Being able to attach a shape to cell using something like shape.attachToCell(row, col) could position the shape's top left corner (regardless of the current worksheet's resolution) to the top left corner of the given cell coordinate.

    Ex: I want to place a shape and align it the cell A5, I could call shape.attachToCell(0,4); which would make the shape's top left corner "snap" to the left top corner of the cell A5.
