  2. Default target framework of Office Addins template should be ASP.NET Core

    Currently, the default solution of an Office Addins generates two projects that targets .NET Framework 4.6.x. Microsoft should change it to ASP.NET Core. There is a way to adapt the manifest file as seem in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53991876/change-target-framework-of-a-office-addins-project-from-net-framework-to-net-c/53993432 , but It would be great if the keyword ~remoteAppUrl could refer to another address.
    I see this might be a problem as .NET Core is optional when installing VS and might escalate to a broader discusstion.
    Also, as asyncronous JavaScript code freaks out migrating VBA (and even web) developers, shouldn't the default template be already in TypeScript (or at least be in the…

  3. Support for CSS “print” media type for content add-ins

    When you print a content add-in, an exact screenshot of the add-in’s current view is getting printed. This is unfavorable as all the UI/control elements you may use in your add-in (menus, buttons, navigation, etc.) get printed as well.

    It would be so much better if Office could use the “screen” and “print” media types of CSS so you can hide specific elements (i.e. the UI ones) for the print-only appearance.

  4. Hijri Shamsi (Farsi or Persian or Iranian or Jalali) Calendar for Sharepoint

    Hi
    In Iran we really need to have Hijri Shamsi Calendar in any office tools such as Sharepoint.
    It would be appreciated if you could help us to support this calendar.

    Regards

  5. Make possible to install Office add-ins permanently to be available offline

    I frequently have to keep my computer offline for weeks, and I'd want to use add-ins I need, like ScriptLab of FunctionsTransform, without constantly reminding myself that I must not clear browser cache or trying to self-host them.
    Simply put, I need an option to install them permanently on disk instead of memory.

  6. Passing querystring parameters to add-ins opened in Office 365

    When a word document is opened in Word online (by clicking the office 365 repository url of the document) is it possible to pass the url to the add-in opened in Word online application. If this is possible then external applications can pass arguments to the add-ins via the url

  8. allow users to move the location of an existing file.

    I open most of my files from "Downloads" and need to move the version I work on into an organized folder. There's no way to do this from an Office application once I have opened the file. I can Save in the original location, or Save As A COPY in another location, but original I no longer need is still there. Mac Preview allows this: when you change a file name you can also change the file location, and it really simplifies the process of organizing my files.

  9. Support a DOCX/XLSX/PPTX clipboard format

    We need this more than all the other requests combined. At present we have implemented a major hack to accomplish this (opening the source document, copying it to the clipboard, then copying from the clipboard for the drag-drop data object).

    Add support for putting a docx, pptx, & xlsx in the clipboard, preferably in the flat package format, but a byte array to the file image would be fine.

    In addition, include an option with this that sets if it uses the source formatting, or blends to the destination formatting. In our case we need it to completely retain the…

  10. Extend the "commands" to include built-in idMso for use in custom groups and tabs as well as repurposing

    In the COM world using Ribbon XML it's possible to: 1) display built-in buttons in custom groups and 2) re-purpose built-in buttons. This way the UI can be optimized for the purposes of an add-in. (2) is especially important because Office applications don't expose very many events, making it difficult to impossible to know when a user has done something that requires a reaction from the add-in. In this regard, COM add-ins and VBA are still much more powerful than the JS APIs.

  11. Create New File SharePoint online folders Office 365

    Add two new file types in the browser Create a New File drop down menu: 1. Text File and 2. Windows Contact

    Text files in One Drive Personal are great. Online the hyperlinks even work, they are easily searchable and small footprint. Why doesn't SharePoint have them?

    Contacts (.Contact) are another handy way to archive contact info. In a sync folder the information appears in the preview pane. They are easily imported into Outlook via the default Windows Contacts folder which as conversion tool .Contact to .VCF.

  12. REST endpoint to configure/enable/assign conditional access permission in Azure to integrate with on-premise privileged account vault

    Build REST endpoints that we can call to grant specific federated/cloud account conditional access to Azure/O365 services. We currently leverage an on-premise solution customized to do this for all of our systems, but Azure/O365 is the hold out service that we must have a different process.

  14. Stop using Internet Explorer for the desktop add-ins

    Either embed Webkit or use Edge - this has gone on long enough.

  16. Allow Addins to be devleoped as spfx webparts hosted in O365

    Would be nice to be able to configure a page in Sharepoint Online to serve as an Office Addin. We could then use am spfx webpart to build the addin.

  17. File-New Extensibility

    We currently have an add-in that runs in a task pane. This add-in allows the user to create new documents based on templates in the user's SharePoint or OneDrive.

    In order to provide our users with a more Office-aligned experience, we would like to display our add-in directly in the File-New canvas.

    Do you have any plans to support this?

  18. Execute an add-in function when a tagged document is opened

    Would it be possible to conditionally open an add-in task pane when the add-in:
    - is tagged/embedded in the document
    - has examined the state of the document and decided that the task pane needs to be opened (when user interaction is needed, for instance)

    This is currently not possible with the office-js model.

  19. refer to greasemonkey/tampermonkey for simplification

    Regarding to development process and framework of Office Addin JS, there are lots of unnecessary steps which make it complicated. Is it possible that Office Dev team refer to the greasemonkey/tampermonkey which extend browser functionality easily.

  20. Support not only guids in GetRealmFromTargetUrl in TokenHelper.cs

    On-premises it is possible to assign a new Realm to any string using Set-SPAuthenticationRealm cmdlet.
    GetRealmFromTargetUrl in TokenHelper.cs from Visual Studio templates does not take that into account. This method validates the determined realm against Guid.TryParse as you can see here:
    if (bearerResponseHeader.Length >= realmIndex + 36)
    {

    string targetRealm = bearerResponseHeader.Substring(realmIndex, 36);

    Guid realmGuid;

    if (Guid.TryParse(targetRealm, out realmGuid))
    {
    return targetRealm;
    }

    }

    So, if you have changed the realm to a string which cannot be converted to guid, you will get a 401 Unauthorized if you e.g. try to access the host via CreateUserClientContextForSPHost().

    That would be really…
