  3. Use Office Add-ins (js) to import Mail Merge Data

    My scenario is that I am creating a dataset in an office js task pane which I would like to feed into the native mail merge data source, this is available in the VSTO version of Office add ins by using the ActiveDocument.MailMerge.OpenDataSource(@path) method.

  4. Access and manipulate non-rich text content controls

    Currently I can only access non rich text content controls via ooxml. This is very cumbersome and error prone. It would be great if I could access items in dropdowns, checkbox values, or comboboxes without having to add the functionality in parsing ooxml.

  5. Linked images using <img> tags in Word desktop don't roundtrip to Word Online

    I'm developing an add-in for Word 2016 and online Word.

    In it, on the desktop version of Word, if I insert html content using document.setSelectedDataAsync with an image tag and URL to an image on our server, the image displays on the desktop version of Word. If I save the same file to OneDrive and show it on the online version of Word, the image does not display. If I wrap the image in an <a> tag with a link, the link shows up when I hover over the image in the online version of Word, but the image never…

  7. InsertFileFromBase64 with continious section breaks

    When inserting a file from a base64 string into the body with the method "InsertFileFromBase64()" it does not include continious section breaks. It uses page breaks instead. It would be nice to have those working also.

  10. Grow/shrink Word table containing ContentControls when mapped XML changes

    In Word, table rows mapped to custom XML part don't get updated correctly when the XML changes. The table doesn't adapt the the number of items. In other words, when the XML has X items mapped to a repeatable row, the table doesn't grow to accommodate the X items.

    I have uploaded the code to one drive...here is the link

    https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=AC13FB5219C13126!373&authkey=!APxbF470V75cCE4&ithint=file%2crar

    Steps to reproduce:

    1.Click the "Create content control button" to create the Text Binding.

    2.Create table (3 cloumns and 5 rows) Inside the content control and then "Create Table Binding".the table bindings will be created for the table that you selected .

    3.Click the button "GetandSetXML for ContentControl" to get and set the XML.

    4.Once after the this, you can notice the Bindings for the table is getting lost.

  12. Let Word support web font

    I'm developing a Word App which can add custom fonts(which are not installed yet) in Word.
    My idea is that to take the Word as a HTML page by using the JavaScript API for Office v1.1 (Office.context.document.setSelectedDataAsync). With the CSS font-family setting , ex:
    @font-face{font-family:fontname; src: url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.eot');src: url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.woff') format('woff');}
    and the HTML tag setting, ex: <span style='font-family:fontname;'>Here shows the custom fonts...</span>

    But the result is: Word accept the CSS style setting, but the web font style is not success. It still keeps the system font style.

    I suggest Word can support web font.

  13. Activate mail apps in more scenarios other than read and compose

    Current the mail apps can only be activated in read/compose. It would be helpful to allow mail apps to be available at Outlook application level such as in a task pane docked to main outlook window.

    The scenario is as follows:
    I have a backend document management service to be exposed in Outlook main window all the time. So I can drag/drop email to our document store.

  14. Retrieve custom properties of a message/appointment from each mailbox

    Currently the custom properties stored within an item are scoped to the user's mailbox. It would be great if we could access them everywhere. For example a scenario:
    Compose form which will store facilities required for a meeting within an appointment. In webmail the receptionist could open the read form of the appointment and see all the required facilities stored in custom properties.

    Currently this is not possible, because the receptionist is viewing it from another mailbox where the custom properties are not available.

  15. Office 365 json api | send emails with inline image attachments

    I send the description my team is having with the json integration with Office API 365.

    We want to send an email with inline attachments through the JSON API.

    With that objective, what we are doing:

    1. Create an empty draft message;
    2. Send the several inline attachments;
    3. Update the body of the draft message (with cid images inline);
    4. Send the message;

    What is are our issue with the API?

    We are unable to set the "ContentType" properties when we submit the attachments to the Office API 365.
    Despite the "ContentType" we send, it is always null.

    We…

  16. Solve Office Activation Issues on Azure VMs

    Office installed on Azure VMs are losing their activation after a VM shutdown. This makes it impossible to create test VMs or use Office on a developer VM to develop/test/deploy(buildserver output) on Azure. Activation based on hardware assets such as harddrive and network MAC/IP combinations is outdated in 2014 and invalidates your VM images.

  17. Javascript API: Trigger the AutoFormat functionality of Office

    I sometimes use use SetDataAsync to write an email address into a cell. When this is done manually, Excel converts it into a clickable link. When it is done with SetDataAsync, this auto formatting doesn't happen. If would be great if it was just automatically triggered.

  18. Encourage users to give feedback on each app

    At present, very few users give feedback and reviews on apps. As a result, other users are less likely to try them.

    At every possible stage, there should be a mechanism for users to rate the app - provide a number of stars and comments. That could be an email reminder or a message that comes up next time they visit the store or something inside of Office 365. The more users that give feedback, the more that other people will feel encouraged to try.

  19. OneNote WebApi for On Premisis Offce Web App Server

    When developing on Premises enterprise Web applications there is a need to integrate Office Web Applications into them to provide additional functionality where data privacy is critical (for example through legislation).

    For this reason enterprises often cannot utilise Azure hosted solutions such as OneNote online, but must use on-premises servers (an example is Office Web App server which provides in-browser support for Office Applications in SharePoint).

    While it is possible to create a windows desktop application that can use the OneNote COM API provided by a locally installed copy of OneNote, it appears not to be possible to provide the…

  20. I'd like to have a Task Pane or area like in Mail that activates within the View Contact view or Edit Contact view.

    In the past I've enhanced the users experience in contacts using a custom form/form region and would like to expand that to the contacts in Office 365.
