  1. Expose the commenting feature via excel-js api.

Can you expose the comments/notes feature in the excel-js api. I am interested in developing an add-in that depends on comments/notes. I noticed that there are other developers who are also interested in add-ins that need access to comments/notes. Following is a stackoverflow thread about it:

  2. Provide way in VBA to know who, if anyone, is currently coauthoring a OneDrive/Office365 document

There are certain functions and events (only tested in Excel .xlsm desktop) that don't work when a document is in coauthor mode using OneDrive/Office365 syncing. If only one person is in the file, the macros work fine. If more than one are in it and co-authoring it would be good to know so certain macros can be prevented from running that otherwise cause the "Reload document" message on the computer that didn't run the macro.
Some of the VBA that doesn't work during coauthoring include all .FormatConditions code (even though you can manually add conditional formatting, doing it by VBA…

  3. Allow toggling of LinkToPrevious with office.js

VBA and .net both allow for editing the Link To Previous property of headers/footers.

This functionality is missing from office.js, and thus requires extensive workarounds often involving other add-ins, XML, and/or weirdly specific templates to replicate.

  4. Restricting access to Outlook add-in

As of right now there is no way to restrict who can install an add-in if a person knows the URL to the manifest file.

Of cause one could argue that the manifest file could be placed behind a login (either forms or normal Windows Auth), but still if a person somehow got hold of the manifest file (through an e-mail or what not), the person could still install the add-in.

It would make sense to add a section to the manifest file that could be used to describe characteristics about the users/domains that that are allowed to install the…

  6. Fix for strange Insert Footnotes/Endnotes behavior when using createDocument method

When a document is created and opened using the createDocument method, it causes strange side effects to the Insert Footnotes & Insert Endnotes functionality.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Create a new Word document using createDocument().
    2. In the new document, select "References->Insert Footnote" (or "Insert Endnote").
    3. A new document window pops up unexpectedly.

  9. Can add-in support drag-and-drop event listening on Outlook

For some early version cannot support some attachment issue. Therefore, I wonder if it is possible for Microsoft to add a drag-and-drop monitor to outlook's body. So that the third party can judge the accessory according to the dragging action to avoid the problem of the Outlook version reason.

  10. Fix for issue causing Split View to be disabled when using createDocument to open document with taskpane attached

So we've discovered that when using createDocument() to open a new document, if that document has a task pane associated with it that's set to auto-open with the document, the "Split" view (under View tab) will be forever disabled. The document is in "Print Layout" mode (default), and for some reason this particular document is causing "Split" to be disabled.

  12. Insert Visual Basic 6.0 programming language as default on Windows 10 updates

This is one of the fastest programming languages out there. Let's be realistic, all the "top" listings in which VB. NET is in top, are pure lies. VB6 was, is, and will be used by many, constantly. Young people constantly come to VB6 in a natural way. People simply use VB6 because is smart, fast and powerful (and independent of .NET).

  14. Allow Graph API access to Archive Mailbox (aka In-place Archive)

Microsoft's official documentation for Graph API access to Archive mailboxes is non-existent, and what people cobble together on public sites like StackOverflow is highly contradictory:

    1. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/52991085/how-to-get-messages-from-archived-mailbox-using-ms-graph-api
    2. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36939501/how-to-get-in-place-archive-mailbox-in-exchange-online-using-office-365-apis
    3. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/36939501/how-to-get-in-place-archive-mailbox-in-exchange-online-using-office-365-apis

(some say it's impossible, some possible, but suggested solutions don't actually work).

    Suggestion:

    1. If it's possible to access Archive mailboxes (not just the regular archive folder in the normal mailbox!) via Graph API, document it properly.
    2. If it's not possible, make it possible.

    Thanks!

  15. Add support for web office add-ins development on Linux

    Hi,

As the title says, I can't develop add-ins for web office on Linux.
I followed the documentation on creating OneNote add-in, but when I run npm run start:web, I get this:

    Debugging is being started...
    App type: web
Unable to start the dev server. Error: Platform not supported: linux
    Debugging started.

    Thanks in advance

  16. Make it possible to filter manageddevices list on wifimacaddress

I know many people have requested this, but a filter that works for wiFiMacAddress is an important aspect for us in billing/security aspects. Without this filter it takes a lot of manual work to find the device the mac belongs to.

  17. Allow to set the "sender" and "from" properties of a message

When composing a message, let the add-in set the "sender" and "from" properties.

    Related properties:
    Office.context.mailbox.item.from
    Office.context.mailbox.item.sender

Remark: So far it is only able to read them.

  18. Ability to programmatic update the Excel Add-in cache or other automation way

Our Add-in deals dynamic server address so we need to update the manifest frequently. The only way to update the Add-in cache is to refresh and insert again, is it possible to do it in automation?

  20. API to move cursor + text selection for Outlook/Office add-in

API to move cursor + text selection for Outlook/Office add-in.
If we are changing the compose text it might be nice to be able to highlight the insertion/modification for the user.
