  4. Provide a feature which gives a list of all styles in Word in Office JS

    Can you please provide a feature which gives a list of all styles in word in Office JS ? This will definitely fill up the gap between Office JS and VSTO

    Santosh, thank you for your suggestions. We really appreciate it.

    Listing all styles in the document is a gap in the Word API and we’re reviewing this suggestion right now. We’ll keep you posted.

    Regarding the Excel suggestion, we request you open another request under Excel Addins to track this item. This would enable voting for this item individually as well.

    Hope this helps!

  5. Need events for Office Web versions of Word and Excel

    The following list of events found on the client version of Word and Excel would aid in development of apps that work the same as current client addin apps work.

    Excel Open Event
    Excel Close Event
    Excel BeforeClose Event
    Workbook activate event

    Word Open Event
    Word Close Event
    Word beforeClose event
    Document activate event

  6. Let Word support web font

    I'm developing a Word App which can add custom fonts(which are not installed yet) in Word.
    My idea is that to take the Word as a HTML page by using the JavaScript API for Office v1.1 (Office.context.document.setSelectedDataAsync). With the CSS font-family setting , ex:
    @font-face{font-family:fontname; src: url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.eot');src: url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.eot?#iefix') format('embedded-opentype'),url('http://xox.com/font/fontfile.woff') format('woff');}
    and the HTML tag setting, ex: <span style='font-family:fontname;'>Here shows the custom fonts...</span>

    But the result is: Word accept the CSS style setting, but the web font style is not success. It still keeps the system font style.

    I suggest Word can support web font.

  7. Office 365 json api | send emails with inline image attachments

    I send the description my team is having with the json integration with Office API 365.

    We want to send an email with inline attachments through the JSON API.

    With that objective, what we are doing:

    1. Create an empty draft message;

    2. Send the several inline attachments;

    3. Update the body of the draft message (with cid images inline);

    4. Send the message;

    What is are our issue with the API?

    We are unable to set the "ContentType" properties when we submit the attachments to the Office API 365.
    Despite the "ContentType" we send, it is always null.

    We are using the following…

  8. Activate mail apps in more scenarios other than read and compose

    Current the mail apps can only be activated in read/compose. It would be helpful to allow mail apps to be available at Outlook application level such as in a task pane docked to main outlook window.

    The scenario is as follows:
    I have a backend document management service to be exposed in Outlook main window all the time. So I can drag/drop email to our document store.

  9. setSelectedDataAsync with data type “HTML” and “Office Open XML” in PowerPoint

    Make it possible to use setSelectedDataAsync with data type “HTML” and “Office Open XML” in PowerPoint. Currently it is only Word that can use data type “HTML” and “Office Open XML”.

  10. Javascript API: Trigger the AutoFormat functionality of Office

    I sometimes use use SetDataAsync to write an email address into a cell. When this is done manually, Excel converts it into a clickable link. When it is done with SetDataAsync, this auto formatting doesn't happen. If would be great if it was just automatically triggered.

  11. Add keyboard shortcut

    In all previous versions of MS Word I used ability to assign keyboard shortcut to a macro. However JavaScript API for Office seems to not support this. It is so strange and unexpected.
    Unfortunately absence of this feature is a blocker for me to develop custom plugins for Word 2013 online. Could be great to have it back!

  12. Retrieve custom properties of a message/appointment from each mailbox

    Currently the custom properties stored within an item are scoped to the user's mailbox. It would be great if we could access them everywhere. For example a scenario:
    Compose form which will store facilities required for a meeting within an appointment. In webmail the receptionist could open the read form of the appointment and see all the required facilities stored in custom properties.

    Currently this is not possible, because the receptionist is viewing it from another mailbox where the custom properties are not available.

  13. client-side ribbon manipulation

    I'd like to see the ability to register ribbon items (tabs and their children) dynamically on the client-side via my app or some tenant scoped javascript that I can register (needs to work with SharePoint Online and should not block submittal to the store). Right now the only way to register a ribbon item of any sort is to do so during the app installation which doesn’t allow us to extend the ribbon over time (either with our own service adding items or by allowing the user to add their own items via an app or whatever).

  14. Encourage users to give feedback on each app

    At present, very few users give feedback and reviews on apps. As a result, other users are less likely to try them.

    At every possible stage, there should be a mechanism for users to rate the app - provide a number of stars and comments. That could be an email reminder or a message that comes up next time they visit the store or something inside of Office 365. The more users that give feedback, the more that other people will feel encouraged to try.

  15. Make the store page for each app more user-friendly.

    The front page to the new store looks fantastic, it's nice, user-friendly and very intuitive. But that redesign doesn't extent to the page for each app.

    When you click on an app, the page for each app is messy. It should be redesigned to encourage users to explore the screenshots, read the description and instructions, click relevant video, and ultimately add the app.

  16. On Office App store search results page, show Provider field in app details.

    On the search result page for Office Apps, show the provider field of each App.

    e.g. https://store.office.com/search.aspx?productgroup=SharePoint&catfltr=6&category=Editor%2527s%2BPicks

    Can't tell which apps are made by Microsoft and which ones are made by which partner.

  17. Solve Office Activation Issues on Azure VMs

    Office installed on Azure VMs are losing their activation after a VM shutdown. This makes it impossible to create test VMs or use Office on a developer VM to develop/test/deploy(buildserver output) on Azure. Activation based on hardware assets such as harddrive and network MAC/IP combinations is outdated in 2014 and invalidates your VM images.

  18. I'd like to have a Task Pane or area like in Mail that activates within the View Contact view or Edit Contact view.

    In the past I've enhanced the users experience in contacts using a custom form/form region and would like to expand that to the contacts in Office 365.

  19. OneNote WebApi for On Premisis Offce Web App Server

    When developing on Premises enterprise Web applications there is a need to integrate Office Web Applications into them to provide additional functionality where data privacy is critical (for example through legislation).

    For this reason enterprises often cannot utilise Azure hosted solutions such as OneNote online, but must use on-premises servers (an example is Office Web App server which provides in-browser support for Office Applications in SharePoint).

    While it is possible to create a windows desktop application that can use the OneNote COM API provided by a locally installed copy of OneNote, it appears not to be possible to provide the…

  20. Allow edits made by Office.js API functions (setDataAsync et. al.) to be 'undone' with Ctrl-z

    Right now, an app makes changes to the sheet, there's no way for the user to undo those changes (or their previous changes).
