  3. Wildcard search and MatchWholeWord search doesn't work with tracked deletions

At present, if there are tracked deletions within a word, that word will not be found by search if either MatchWholeWord or Wildcards are turned on. This is a bug in search, but it is especially crucial to fix for add-ins.

  5. Extend Word Javascript api to close the editing window

In a workflow scenario (not sharepoint workflow, something custom) where we want to have a button in a Word Add-In taskpane to close the Word Online window after saving the file. In this button we initiate a next workflow step by saving the document, initiate the next step by e.g. setting a flag in sharepoint and closing the document editing session of the user.

This could either be an office general api or a word specific api (this is where we need it the most).

  6. Adding Field Codes for Word Using Word Javascript API

I want to add field codes using word JavaScript API. I checked the API documentation but I found nothing regarding this. It would be great, if there a possible way to do this through the API.

  9. Office.js support comapre document functionality equivalent to Application.CompareDocuments

VBA COM Object model supports Application.CompareDocuments to compare and merge word documents. Office.js lacks this capability. Please support this through Office.js

  10. Create an event to know when content control is selected in word online.

I am trying to create an event to know what content control is selected. Alex Jerabek told me that "onSelectionChanged" could be useful but it is still in BETA. So I would like to ask you implement these events and release them.
Thank you very much for your time.

  11. Wrapping OOXML APIs Needed - insertComment, insertBookmark, insertOoxmlFragment

The API makes it very very difficult to wrap content in the underlying OOXML with additional OOXML.

SUGGESTION: It would be great if there were a range.insertComment, range.insertBookmark that worked exactly like range.insertContentControl does! Or please give us a method to get the current OOXML fragment represented by a range. I'm trying to insert bookmarks and I've seen others trying to insert comments, around the selected text. The getOoxml() methods are great if you're writing copy/paste functionality, but that doesn't help you if you're trying to manipulate/wrap the fragment.

  12. Create Word Comments via Office API

    Hi,

Could you add functionality to create Word comments via the Office API?

I know have a proof of concept, named Feedback+, in the store where we create comments into a word document. But this has a bug. It creates a paragraph everytime someone creates a comment in the document.

    Thanks,

    JW

  13. No direct support to lock document programmatically

Currently we are adding a Content Control to the entire body and setting its cannot Edit property to true.

This works fine in Desktop and Mac, but fails in case of Word online and iPad when we have nested Content Controls.

  14. Set Document template and create custom styles programmatically

In Word, allow to set the template of the document and the creation of custom styles using the Word JavaScript API. It is also currently not possible to set page margins via the API. The use case is to create add-ins which convert any user document into a standard form that is consistent with a company standards

  15. Support Regex (regular expressions) via Search javascript API

context.document.body.search and range.search do not accept regular expressions (regex) as search patterns. The current wildcard language that is supported is far less capable. We have documents with lots of patterns that we look for via regular expressions and currently that is not possible with the javascript API. Please consider adding support for that.

  16. Programmatically disable/hide the Ribbon menu

We are in the process of development for Office 365 based Add-ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It would be really nice, if we could have a way to disable/hide the ribbon buttons based on some data against that particular user.

  17. Add keyboard shortcut

In all previous versions of MS Word I used ability to assign keyboard shortcut to a macro. However JavaScript API for Office seems to not support this. It is so strange and unexpected.
Unfortunately absence of this feature is a blocker for me to develop custom plugins for Word 2013 online. Could be great to have it back!

  20. Allow to customize the pop-up dialogue title when it is called by displayDialogAsync

I'm using Office.context.ui.displayDialogAsync to display a popup dialog.

In word and powerpoint for Windows, the Window title is shown as the add-in name.

In word and powerpoint Online, the window title is 'Message from Add-in: ' followed by the add-in name. This doesn't look too good.

I suggest to let user customize the title his way by

    (a) provide the title as a parameter to the api

    (b) use the html page title

or at least (c) remove the text 'Message from Add-in: ' in the case of office Online
