    Excel BeforeClose Event
    Workbook activate event

    Word Open Event

  2. Drag and Drop

As you are supporting so many document events for Getting and
    Setting the Data using office.js
Hence we are developing office apps 90% code using Jquery and javascript, but not all the events are supported that supported by Jquery.

I need some drag and drop kind facility for dropping "ooxml" kind of data to docuement.

  5. Save/Load document from Office Javascript API

The save() methods that exists in the API's aren't aren't really very useful. This extends the typical Ctrl+S functionality. It would be great to implement a feature in which it would be possible for us to apply the save() method with a parameter: 'Url/path'. Currently it isn't possible for us to save a document to a specific location nor is it possible for us to load a document from a specific location.

    Functions in topic:
    - save(string url): apply url/path to where you wish to save the document.
    - load(string url): apply url/path to a document you wish to load.

  6. client-side ribbon manipulation

I'd like to see the ability to register ribbon items (tabs and their children) dynamically on the client-side via my app or some tenant scoped javascript that I can register (needs to work with SharePoint Online and should not block submittal to the store). Right now the only way to register a ribbon item of any sort is to do so during the app installation which doesn’t allow us to extend the ribbon over time (either with our own service adding items or by allowing the user to add their own items via an app or whatever).

  7. Emit event for document that is about to be saved, or email that is about to be sent

there are numerous regulatory scenarios where information needs to be captured as part of a save or send event.

This might be mandatory information as part of regulatory compliance, or information that the enterprise requires prior saving a document (e.g. management information of some sort).

The most natural place to capture this is at the time of either a document being saved, or an email being sent (once the user has entered their content and therefore understands what metadata is appropriate).

If an event could be bound to it would introduce some interesting use cases within the larger business environment.

  8. Office Add-ins should run in Chromium-based Edge, not EdgeHTML

At the moment addins run in EdgeHTML

Recently Chromium-based Edge has been released which is much faster than EdgeHTML

Add-ins should run in new, Chromium-based Edge.

Will it be "just done" at the next Windows update?

    Similar to previous suggestion:

  9. Make possible to install Office add-ins permanently to be available offline

I frequently have to keep my computer offline for weeks, and I'd want to use add-ins I need, like ScriptLab of FunctionsTransform, without constantly reminding myself that I must not clear browser cache or trying to self-host them.
Simply put, I need an option to install them permanently on disk instead of memory.

  10. Universal Changed Event Support

Add a custom binding (named AllDocument binding) encompassing opened Powerpoint file , Excel File or Word file from Office.js so that a before chang event is raised to App. This will help with validations/ custom actions

  11. Support for high DPI taskpanes

Office now supports high-DPI and per-monitor DPI awareness, but custom task-panes do not. Add-in custom task panes are always hosted in a system aware host window and there is no way to indicate our add-in is high-DPI and multi-monitor DPI aware. Our customers therefore only see a low resolution user interface in the task panes. The Excel built-in task panes support high-DPI so this shouldn't be too difficult, maybe a registry setting indicating the add-in supports high-DPI or even an extra parameter to ICTPFactory.CreateCTP indicating support.

  12. Methods for protecting and unprotecting changes in Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents using Office Web API

Need for protecting and unprotecting Word, Excel and PowerPoint content that is open, saved or closed when using the Office Web apps. Using Office Web API there needs to be events that can be caught related to opening, saving and closing these types of files using Office Web apps and content protected or unprotected by password.

  13. Stop using Internet Explorer for the desktop add-ins

  14. Give Roadmap for App for Office JavaScript API

I would be very interested to understand where you are going with the JavaScript API. I think it is a very good venue. However, it still is very rudimentary compared to the traditional C# or VBA API’s. There are still fundamental lacks (talking about Excel) such as:
    - Get address of bindings (e.g. info compared to =cell() function)
    - Get cell formula instead of value from a given matrix binding
    - Trigger range based recalculations
    - Evaluate function for computing a formula
    - Get more context (User context) e.g. for accessing external data (>> rights and roles management)
    - And…

  15. Default target framework of Office Addins template should be ASP.NET Core

Currently, the default solution of an Office Addins generates two projects that targets .NET Framework 4.6.x. Microsoft should change it to ASP.NET Core. There is a way to adapt the manifest file as seem in https://stackoverflow.com/questions/53991876/change-target-framework-of-a-office-addins-project-from-net-framework-to-net-c/53993432 , but It would be great if the keyword ~remoteAppUrl could refer to another address.
I see this might be a problem as .NET Core is optional when installing VS and might escalate to a broader discusstion.
Also, as asyncronous JavaScript code freaks out migrating VBA (and even web) developers, shouldn't the default template be already in TypeScript (or at least be in the…

  16. Allow to open/save files via JS

It would be very useful to have ability to open file from provided location or to save it there. This way developers could provide better cloud solutions.

    Scenarios:
    - Open file from or Save file to FileStream
    - Open file from os Save file to provided URL (supporting http/ftp even secured)

    See also: https://officespdev.uservoice.com/forums/224641-general/suggestions/13421412-allow-officejs-to-open-external-excel-workbook-pro

  17. Allow edits made by Office.js API functions (setDataAsync et. al.) to be 'undone' with Ctrl-z

Right now, an app makes changes to the sheet, there's no way for the user to undo those changes (or their previous changes).

  18. Allow Application-Level or Document-Level Office Addins

In VSTO, we can create Application-Level or Document-Level documents. In Office-JS, It seems that at the moment it is a mixture of application level for the ribbon/pane and workbook level for the JS.
This separation is important so developers can sell, for instance, a specific workbook for its own and only own ribbons and panes, or a generic applciation level tool.
A consequence of this request is that it should be possible to attach an office addin (initialization) to a specific document.

  19. Need to have an onClose event for the task pane or content pane add-in

There should be an onClose event I can ask the user to save settings, or ask them if they are sure, and then prevent the close if necessary. If the add-ins are going to be useful business apps, the user experience of saving before closing is extremely important.

  20. Enable Office Add-in (javascript) to run on Office Web Apps or Office Online Server

Similar to the Desktop and Online (Office 365) versions, the office applications hosted on Office Web Apps or Office Online Server should support Office Add-in (javascript)

For example, currently you can run the add-ins in Word Online (hosted on Office 365) but running Word Online hosted on Office Online Server the add-in functionality is not available.
