I suggest you ...

getSelectedDataAsync for Powerpoint shapes

getSelectedDataAsync only return text string (if there is text in selected shape). Would be great to return more info of selected shape, perhaps in OOXML/HTML form, or at least a shape ID.

        Hi,

currently getSelectedDataAsync does not return an error when called with Office.FileType.Compressed. It returns a file. I am not sure about the format though. Quite possible it's the whole office document.

Frankly office.js is useless to me without the ability to actually have a look into the document my user is working with.
I was hoping for a more comfortable way then using the whole open document since that seems to be without a usable documentation.

Reviewing since a YEAR - hey MS!
Our App will need this feature to insert active Charts, Tables etc. into Powerpoint.
        PLEASE provide this feature!!!

Under review for a year and no updates, is this dead? I could really use a feature like this
