Enabling drag&drop with Add-ins commands and TaskPane menu
It would be nice to enable drag and drop of a given outlook item in the taskpane menu.

As a standard MS Outlook user I what to be able to drag one or multiple selected mails from a mail folder list e.g. Inbox (it should also be possible from all other folders) and then drop the mails in a task pane add-in.
By doing this drag & drop I can easily save the mails to our platform/application, because the add-in can read everything from the mails e.g. sender, recipients, caption, mail text, attachments and so on.

I've got a use case of wanting to allow the user to select one or multiple mail items and drag drop to an open task pane. In this case it's for filing email into a repository. The native To Do integration in Outlook Web Access has this exact functionality (drag a mail item onto the To Do pane to create a To Do item from it) - Microsoft has the same needs and enabled it for 1st party products, we need it to build compelling 3rd party add-ins too!

Thanks for your suggestion! We'd like to better understand the idea. Is the drag and drop related to the action location in the ribbon or to behavior inside of a taskpane? What are you envisioning the experience would be with drag and drop enabled?
