  1. Add-ins installed by third parties cannot be managed anywhere anymore. How pathetic.

There is no way anymore to manage third party add-ins (e.g. from printers, meeting managers etc.)...

Why do working things that work always have to be improved to death??

Idea: Do at least minimal QA testing and ensure that core functionality of previous versions is still available... cannot be that complicated.

  4. Extend the Attachment Tools Tab with custom button in Outlook Web Add-in

It would be nice to add custom ribbon button in Attachment Tools Tab , which becomes active only when you select an attachment within a mail

Would be useful to implement attachment specific features.

  6. Request the ability to Add additional line items Definition to Outlook Header

For example having a Mobile email app add a unique line to the email header that is received by Outlook desktop to identify special contents without Outlook stripping that info from the header.

  8. Bug:saveAsync modifies changeKey when there are no changes made

To get an id of a draft item, we always have to call saveAsync. This call modifies the ChangeKey even when we don't modify the message. This is a problem because Exchange synchronization approaches rely on the fact that ChangeKey changes ONLY when there are actual changes to the message. So clients end up pulling messages that they should not have pulled ( because ChangeKey incorrectly indicates a change ).

  9. customizable suite bar in outlook web app

It is possible to add custom links to the suite bar by using the admin site. Provide an ability to your third party developers to programmatically customize the suite bar of outlook web app. While it is possible in desktop app, I cant seem to find a way to do so in outlook web app

  10. Allow Outlook Add-Ins to work with custom forms

When trying to convert an existing solution from Outlook custom form + COM Add-Ins to a mail-app Office-Addin we cannot get add-in commands to work on items of our custom form.

Please understand that this makes it hard or impossible to support the new Add-in model when coming from a currently working solution built on older extension technology.

Please allow to use Add-ins on items with custom forms.

It would be okay if we have to state that explicitly in the Add-in manifest.

  11. make sure you follow up on stack overflow questions

    Hi!

Usually, when developers encounter bugs, there is a central bug tracking system. Since you don't have one, for unknown- or no reasons, could you please follow up on Stack Overflow questions?

    Thanks!

  12. Content Controls to Email Templates

I have researched this on the web and do not see where Outlook mail will allow this to occur. Multiple times a day if fire off repetitive emails that if allowed to use content controls in Outlook mail templates, it would make my typing less and day go faster. I added content controls to a template in Word, and copy and pasted it to Outlook mail to create a specific mail template. It failed due to the active content controls/macros in the template. It would take to much time to cut and paste from Word for each individual email, so…

  13. make sure your (support) engineers reachable by email or otherwise via Stack Overflow

Most of the time, after having posted a question on Stack Overflow regarding one of the products devs can develop for, your (support) engineers provide an answer. Sometimes a conversation arises after which, at some point, engineers stop responding.
Currently there is no good way (well, except for a public bug tracker which you don't seem to have for no / unknown reasons) to draw the attention of your (support) engineers back to said conversation in a user friendly way.

Make it so, that there will be.

  15. Feature Proposal for Outlook - Dynamic mail address list

I would like to propose a new Outlook feature named „dynamic mail address list”.

    Background:
Many companies and other communities are using a mail based communication approach e.g. to coordinate project related tasks.
Mail address lists are typically defined statically and include many receiver addresses.
A specific mail for a dedicated subject is then distributed to a large number of mail addresses but many receivers of the mail are not interested in this specific subject. Subsequent mails for the subject are always distributed to all mail addresses again. Checking mails is in general getting more and more inefficient for individual…

  16. Add Binding.BindingDataChanged events to Outlook

Right now there are no ways to listen for updates in TO, CC, BCC, Subject, Body fields.
The Binding.BindingDataChanged event like in Word or Excel could be the good solutions for that.

  17. Color reading box

I suggest coloring the reading box, where there are email addresses, with the same color as the function bar.

  18. Alert users when navigating away from an email with app open

There should be an option to alert the user when navigating away from an email without actions being completed in an addin.

We face issues where users are saving their email through our app, and they continue on to the next email before the execution is done.

  19. flag detecting if attachment exits in compose mode.

We don't need to know the details of the attachments but only a flag that indicates that the item in compose, user has added an attachment.

Office.context.mailbox.item.attachments is only supported in Read mode for performance reason, but can we have a only a flag exposed to tag compose item of attachment existence?

  20. Ability to retrieve BCC on own e-mails in read-mode (sent folder)

We would like to be able to retrieve the recipients in the BCC field of an e-mail which was sent by the user himself (aka the e-mail is in the sent folder and in read-mode).

Currently BCC can only be retrieved when the e-mail is in compose mode.
