  1. Allow Outlook 2016 for Mac attachments to automatically be opened in edit mode

Would like the capability to edit attachments when they are opened in Outlook without having to manually create a separate copy. On Outlook 2016 for Mac, the only workaround appears to be to open the attachment in preview mode then selecting Open with Microsoft Word/Excel/Powerpoint etc.

  4. Provide more examples, for example how to file a MailBox.Item to SharePoint.

I am learning about OWA add-ins but I cannot find anything about mailing an item. I was able to find an example on filing attachments but not about filing an Item

  5. A Fix for the Outlook Add-in manifest template

I found a problem with the Outlook Add-Ins manifest in Visual Studio. Please read this thread:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/appsforoffice/thread/214ad336-a373-4c5b-852d-3fd735b6c560/
It is related to the Manifest designer not opening when the VersionOverrides statement at top of the XML file is in place.
Removing the line makes the manifest designer to open, but if in place, the manifest always opens in test mode.

  6. Appointment view pane

When opening an appointment in view mode, the right pane does not show the Add-Ins for Read, even if we designed it. It should act the same as in the mailbox read pane.

  7. Automatically open a mail from spam folder if I select the secure mail option.

Currently, selecting the "one time, it is a secure mail" the site displays a message to choose if I want to open the mail. It should automatically open if i already indicates that it´s a secure mail.

  8. MVA courses on Office development

It would be a good idea to categorize the courses to reflect the new features and add notes on older courses that differ from the actuality of the new developments around Office Add-Ins and Apps. Many courses still show Visual Studio 2013 and the old way to build Add-Ins for Outllook

  10. Provide Add-Ins web hook for User login and logout/disconnect

An optional URL could be placed in an Add-In's manifest file that would be called when the user of the Add-In logs in and logs out or becomes disconnected. This would occur automatically without the user having to invoke the Add-In. In the case of the Outlook desktop app, it would be when the user starts and quits the program.

In my situation, I need to be notified when an email has been moved to a different folder so I can determine its new message ID, even when they haven't clicked on my Add-In's UI. My web hook could be…

  11. Host Office.js on other CDNs

A few days ago, the Microsoft CDN (https://appsforoffice.microsoft.com) where Office.js and other libs are hosted, went down for a couple hours. It would be great if these files could also be hosted on another CDN (https://cdnjs.com/) as a fallback.

  12. Office.js to provide support for retrieving host or domain url from add-in

    Suggestion is derived from here:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/5c843b0a-594d-4511-b42f-7d28c79a5cfe/detecting-if-outlook-addin-is-loaded-through-outlookofficecom-vs-outlooklivecom?forum=appsforoffice&prof=required

Office.js to return the parent URL/domain of an Outlook add-in. This is useful for knowing what Outlook web client the user is loading the add-in. Outlook Office365 vs Outlook.com.

Certain browsers don't allow access to the parent domain due to security.

  13. Allow side loading or local installs for Outlook Addin-ins

I would love to be able to install newer add-ins directly into Outlook regardless of what type of email server I am using. If this allowed me to side load add-ins I am developing even better. As it stands right now I cannot create add-ins for the desktop because I do not have an Exchange based email server. Excel and Word can install their own add-ins directly it would be great to have feature parity in Outlook.

  14. Allow add-ins to specify a hook which when correctly matched can trigger an alert making the user aware of the availability of the add-in.

Allow add-ins to specify a hook which when correctly detected within an incoming email can trigger an alert making the user aware of the availability of the add-in.

  15. OfficeJS support in web-view folder

Outlook for Windows supports a (legacy) MAPI property called WebViewUrl which loads a web-page when viewing that folder.

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/microsoft.office.interop.outlook.mapifolder.webviewurl.aspx

Support OfficeJS in this scenario to create a folder-based full-view app in Outlook.

  17. Support for shared mailboxes

Office 365 shared mailboxes are very useful. Unfortunately, they do not load outlook web add-ins right now: see http://stackoverflow.com/questions/35059067/make-outlook-add-ins-working-with-office-365-shared-mailboxes/35065215?noredirect=1#comment57867973_35065215
This would be terrific to have add-ins for such mailboxes especially for all CRMs related apps.

  18. Boost the custom pane height

The maximum of 450 for the RequestedHeight element in the schema manifest is not quite large enough. There may be scenarios where the UI needs to cover the entire Reading Pane. Form Regions in the Outlook client already support a complete replacement option for some Outlook items. Add-in Express also has this feature for their Advanced View and Form Regions. Maintaining consistency would be best for all design scenarios and migration from other platforms.

  19. Provide Mail App Compose appointment functionality to manage resources

In compose app scenario there is no way to manage resources.
    1. if you open a meeting in OWA that has resources configured, you cannot access to this resources.
    2. if you create a meeing in Outlook and you add "Room Mailboxes" as required or optional attendees, OL resolve those partecipants as Resources and you can no longer manage those elements.

  20. Add read flag for MailBox API message object

Read/unread flag would be a nice addition to identify when email is read first time.

Currently outlook add-ins cannot know which emails are opened first time. Only way to achieve this kind of behavior is to keep track of itemId's.
