2. Word js api: Add support for all content controls

Currently only content controls of type RichText are support (see https://dev.office.com/reference/add-ins/word/contentcontrol). Please add support for other types, specially BuildingBlockGallery, CheckBox and ComboBox

3. Allow to customize the pop-up dialogue title when it is called by displayDialogAsync

I'm using Office.context.ui.displayDialogAsync to display a popup dialog.

In word and powerpoint for Windows, the Window title is shown as the add-in name.

In word and powerpoint Online, the window title is 'Message from Add-in: ' followed by the add-in name. This doesn't look too good.

I suggest to let user customize the title his way by

(a) provide the title as a parameter to the api

(b) use the html page title

or at least (c) remove the text 'Message from Add-in: ' in the case of office Online

4. Allow Office.js add-in to make window.open() be able to open a dynamically generated HTML in a browser

As we know, using Word.Body class, we can get html from body or a section of an Active WORD document. We want to manipulate that html (based on our business needs) and then display it on a browser. But in an office.js add-in window.open() does not work on a dynamically generated html as explained in the following two posts: https://stackoverflow.com/q/53027657/1232087

5. Allow navigating to end of text selection

When adding bindings, it is possible to navigate to the binding by it's id. An option of gotoByIdAsync is to pass Office.SelectionMode.Selected or Office.SelectionMode.None, where the latter moves the cursor to the beginning of the binding.

An option here would be preferable which allows navigating the cursor to the end of the binding's selection.

Why?

Using bindings is one of the few ways to change the selection. This way of navigating should be as versatile as possible.

In our scenario we want to make another modification to the selection after navigating to the end of the selection.

6. Open web links in default browser rather than IE for desktop Word

Clicking on hyperlinks in Word Add-in opens up IE browser
eq. <a href="http://example.com" target="_blank"> then the window is IE.

It would be better if it would be default browser (as users are usually only logged into web portals with their default browser)

11. Load documento from base64 string

I'm saving the documento to a DB extracting the base64 file with Office.context.document.getFileAsync, but I need the counterpart to load my document, I tried with thisDocument.body.insertFileFromBase64, but I't doesn't load layout setting, header, footer etc, I also tryed a method from the beta context.application.createDocument(base64file) but this opens a new instance of word and this does not fit mi app requirement, are there any other alternatives? can this be done with and add-in?

12. Expose AutoCorrect in either JavaScript API for Office or Word JavaScript API

It would be great to expose AutoCorrect as in Microsoft.Office.Interop.Word PIA in either the Office JS API or the Word JS API to foster Office Add-ins on all platforms that can access and modify AutoCorrect entries.

13. No Direct communication between Dialog API popup window and document

Today there is no support for Direct communication between Dialog API popup window and document. As a work around we are sending commands to the Task Pane first then updating the document. Please add support for communication between dialog API and Popup window

15. Programmatically disable/hide the Ribbon menu

We are in the process of development for Office 365 based Add-ins for Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
It would be really nice, if we could have a way to disable/hide the ribbon buttons based on some data against that particular user.

16. Document Variable support using office js

I am working with office.js for developing add-ins.
I want to use document variables like it is accessible using VSTO add-ins word document object.
I play with document settings property but it is not equivalent to document variables.
Can you please provide support for that.

19. Set Document template and create custom styles programmatically

In Word, allow to set the template of the document and the creation of custom styles using the Word JavaScript API. It is also currently not possible to set page margins via the API. The use case is to create add-ins which convert any user document into a standard form that is consistent with a company standards

20. Add option to automatically create table of acronyms

In technical descriptions there are usually lots of acronyms. There should be one macro or something to collect all words which look like acronyms (for example words with several CAPS letters) and create a table for them. The field next to acronym can be left empty for describing each acronym.
