Feature Requests and Feedback

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Retrieve SharePoint Social.Following Microsoft Graph

    It would be great to get SharePoint people and content following information through Microsoft Graph.

    • findRooms by name or email address

      Using the Microsoft Graph API, I would like to find rooms by either name or email address, such as:

      https://graph.microsoft.com/beta/me/findRooms?$filter=startswith(mail,'cal_')

      or

      https://graph.microsoft.com/beta/me/findRooms?$filter=startswith(name,'Building 1')

      Our rooms are not in RoomLists, and there are well over 100 rooms.

      Could you please expand the findRooms query parameters to include email and/or name?

      • Add Pagination to the findRooms API, to get past the limit of 100 rooms

        The /findRooms API states: "You can get up to the first 100 rooms in the tenant". Could you please add standard Pagination, to get past this limit?

        I tried /findRooms?$top=1000&$count=true but I am not able to make these query parameters work. In addition, I now understand that the API doesn't currently support things like $top or $skip.

        • Retrieve the extended resource properties like capacity through Graph API (findrooms)

          As a user , when I search for a meeting room , we have a requirement to filter the meeting rooms based on the resource availability ( like room capacity , display availibility etc.) . Can we have a feature to include `msExchResourceCapacity`, `msExchResourceDisplay` or `msExchResourceMetaData` in the search criteria ?

            • Add Microsoft Word endpoints to the Microsoft Graph API

              Microsoft Graph needs to allow access to Microsoft Word Documents by exposed API endpoints.

              Basically, all the analogous functionality present in the excel endpoints should also be exposed for the respective similar functions that Microsoft word has.

              Why can we not, create, edit, modify, add tables, etc, etc, in Microsoft Word through Microsoft Graph?

              • Add Timing-Allow-Origin: * to MS Graph response headers

                To allow consumers of Graph APIs to use the Resource Timing web browser API to get detailed request timing information when making cross-origin calls to MS Graph, the Timing-Allow-Origin header should be included in responses from MS Graph with a value of *.

                • Allow MS Graph API /messages/delta to include singleValueExtendedProperties

                  I'm incrementally pulling messages via the /delta query in MS Graph API, v1.0. I'd like to pull a singleValueExtendedProperty in the same way I can for normally listing messages:

                  https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/me/mailFolders/Inbox/messages/delta?$expand=singleValueExtendedProperties($filter=id eq 'String 0x007D')

                  Unfortunately this is currently not supported. I get an error that says:
                  "Value cannot be null.\r\nParameter name: type"

                  I know I can follow up with multiples GETs to pull the desired extended properties, but I'd rather avoid spawning several requests if I can get away with one.

                  Please see conversation here: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/46603485/how-do-i-get-singlevalueextendedproperties-for-ms-graph-v1-0-delta-queries

                    My company would like to integrate outlook tasks as full tracking system, but unfortunately we are not able to access actual and total work hours to change or even see throw outlook.office.com/api. We ask you to add this feature.

                    • Add delta query support for Group Conversations/Threads/Posts

                      There is currently no delta query support for Group Conversations/Threads/Posts. The only way to track changes in Office 365 Group Conversations via the Graph API, is to fetch all the Posts that has ever been sent. This does not scale well. Therefore, it would be nice if it was possible to track changes in Posts using the delta query functionality which is available for messages.

                      • Get all members of a group including nested group members

                        Currently in Microsoft Graph, the groups/{id}/members ONLY returns the DIRECT members of the specified group. This is a request for an API that would return all members including nested group members (also known as transitive down closure).

                                    For current Ruby integration, the gem omniauth-microsoft_v2_auth needs to be pulled from github, rather than from the standard gems source of rubygems.org.

                                    omniauth_src = 'git://github.com/cbales/omniauth-microsoft_graph'
                                    gem 'omniauth-microsoft_v2_auth', git: omniauth_src

                                    Can you please publish the gem with all the other gems on rubygems.org, to avoid pulleding directly from github?

                                    gem 'omniauth-microsoft_v2_auth'

                                    • Add support for optimization headers in Delta Query.

                                      I'm incrementally pulling users/groups via the delta query in Microsoft Graph. While polling I want to obtain only changed attributes of the directoryObjects.

                                      We can get the changed properties in AzureAD Graph with "ocp-aad-dq-include-only-changed-properties" header.

                                      The "ocp-aad-dq-include-only-changed-properties" header is a feature of the Azure AD Graph API and isn't supported in Microsoft Graph.

                                      It would be nice if we can use same optimization headers in Microsoft Graph API.

                                      • Make it possible to fetching a users favourite groups

                                        It is possible to mark a group as favourite using the group_addfavorite API but I can't seem to retrieve that info anywhere.

                                        I think it is more important being able to read favourites than adding if I can't read since you can mark as favourite in browser.

                                        • Allow PowerShell ClientID to consume Office 365 Usage Reports

                                          It would be great if we could access the Office 365 Usage Report without creating an Azure App like explained here : https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/dawiese/2017/04/15/get-office365-usage-reports-from-the-microsoft-graph-using-windows-powershell/

                                          Indeed, it's kind of a showstopper for consultants who want to assess a client's Office 365 tenant.

                                          There is a PowerShell ClientID that is already available to consume other GraphAPI feature like this :
                                          https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/paulomarques/2016/03/21/working-with-azure-active-directory-graph-api-from-powershell/

                                          But if we use it, it fails with:
                                          Invoke-RestMethod : {
                                          "error": {
                                          "code": "InvalidAuthenticationToken",
                                          "message": "Access token validation failure.",
                                          "innerError": {
                                          "request-id": "82702d75-723c-4725-be89-b0bc3a1e95ee",

                                          }
                                          }
                                          }
