Thanks for your feedback, the feature is currently in preview. Documentation can be viewed here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/office/dev/add-ins/reference/manifest/supportssharedfolders
We are actively working on making it generally available and will update the status as soon as it is done.Brent Goedert commented
The worst part about this "feature", is that it wasn't identified in any of the documentation we read (2 years ago). We spent thousands of dollars building our web based add-in, only to find out during testing that it wouldn't work on shared mailboxes, so then we had to build a new interface using VSTO to complete the project.
Microsoft, just admit it... You don't know how to fix this issue... do you?Brent Goedert commented
Along the same lines... If a user shares their mail file with another user, the Add-in assigned to that user's account, should come through as well.
Our Sales users operate in small groups, and share their mail with everyone in the group.
Here is the scenario:
User-A and User-B have given each other Full Access to each other's mailboxes.
User-A and User-B have been assigned the same Outlook Add-in.
When User-A is out of the office, User-B needs to use this Outlook Add-in to process emails in both mail files.
This is not currently possible.Brent Goedert supported this idea ·
